Erasmus Journal of Medicine

The Erasmus Journal of Medicine (EJM) is a scientific journal for articles written by students attending the Medical Faculty of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The EJM offers a unique opportunity to publish the results of your research and make it available to fellow students, staff and the general public.

Organisation and review process

The editorial board consists of students and staff members of Erasmus University Medical Centre. The review process is supervised and guided by a student-editor and a staff-editor of the editorial board. The papers are appointed to a student- and a staff-member of the external reviewer’s board for peer review. Evidently, the project supervisor should approve the submission and the contents of the paper.

What’s in it for you?

We would like to ask all students and their project supervisors to submit papers they consider to be of interest to a wider medical audience to the Erasmus Journal of Medicine. Research master students and PhD students are certainly encouraged to submit. You can also become member of our external board of reviewers or consider joining the editorial board.

Papers can be submitted as full original papers, which typically describe the results of a student-research project. However, we also welcome abstracts and extended abstracts, for example with one figure or table. We would also like to receive reviews, case reports, clinical images and clinical quizzes, senior researchers and PhD students may submit short descriptions of their research themes, in order to attract potential student-researchers. The language used in the EJM is English.
